WATCH: New The Dark Tower video explores the world of Stephen King that links to the tower

July 26th, 2017 by Marc Comments

With The Dark Tower movie only a week away (what?!) we get a new bit of marketing tying it to the main parts of the Stephen King universe.

The Dark Tower – Connected KINGdom has Idris Elba’s narration as Roland of Gilead talking about the other worlds than these including The Shining, The Stand, Carrie, Christine and more in here and its probably our favourite bit of marketing for the movie yet.

And it makes us wonder… with IT referenced in the movie and here, could the upcoming IT movie (here) be related to this? Or could the planned King TV series Castlerock (here), that aims to explore the King-verse, be related too?

We could really get into an exploration of the King universe on big and small screens because we all know it’s the biggest universe in books.

Thoughts?

The Dark Tower

There are other worlds than these. Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, the ambitious and expansive story from one of the world’s most celebrated authors, makes its launch to the big screen. The last Gunslinger, Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), has been locked in an eternal battle with Walter, also known as the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey), determined to prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together. With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle as only Roland can defend the Tower from the Man in Black.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
