Netflix likes to bring out the big guns, especially around the holidays and they’ve really delivered with this new end of the world (probably) drama, Leave the World Behind.
Starring Julie Roberts, Ethan Hawk and Mahersala Ali and from the creator of Mr Robot, this looks new trailer, below, makes it clear that the movie is going to play with our fears of the world we currently live in.
A family’s (Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke) vacation is upended when two strangers (Mahershala Ali and Myha’la) arrive at night, seeking refuge from a cyberattack that grows more terrifying by the minute, forcing everyone to come to terms with their places in a collapsing world.

Written, directed and produced by Sam Esmail (Mr. Robot), Leave The World Behind is based on the 2020 novel of the same name by Rumaan Alam. The film stars Julia Roberts (who also co-produced the film), Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, Myha’la Herrold, Farrah Mackenzie, Charlie Evans, and Kevin Bacon.
Leave The World Behind hits select cinemas in November before heading to Netflix on 8th December.
