WATCH: Poster and teaser drop for Evil Dead Rise – full trailer coming tomorrow!

January 3rd, 2023 by Marc Comments

We’re finally getting a trailer for the highly-anticipated Evil Dead Rise tomorrow and, to whet our appetites, we have a new poster and a creepy teaser, below.

The movie will be the first in the Evil Dead oeuvre that doesn’t feature the legend that is Bruce Campbell, so that’s working against it, but it has the blessing of Sam Raimi behind it, so we’re still hopeful.

Following on from Raimi’s first three movies and Fede Alvarez’s really rather brilliant reboot, director Lee Cronin has a lot to live up to.

The movie sees lead character Beth visiting her sister, Ellie,  and Ellie’s three kids in their LA apartment but it seems that her sister has been reading something she shouldn’t have been… the Necronomicon, the Book of the Dead which she found in the basement of the building.

The movie stars Nell Fisher, Alyssa Sutherland, Lily Sullivan, Gabrielle Echols, Morgan Davies, Mia Challis, Jayden Daniels, Tai Wano, and Billy Reynolds-McCarthy co-star.

I’m a big fan of the Evil Dead series and must admit, I prefer the later, more slapstick entries such as Army of Darkness but I’m excited for this entry too and really hope it goes someway to linking to the previous movies, especially Alvarez’s entry.

See you all tomorrow for the full trailer, deadites.

A twisted tale of two estranged sisters whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.

“Evil Dead Rise” is slated to open in cinemas on April 21st 2023.
