WATCH: Sylvester Stallone joins The Suicide Squad cast, confirms he’s seen the movie

November 19th, 2020 by Marc Comments

So, Rocky, Rambo, Demolition Man and so much more star Sylvester Stallone has joined the cast of James Gunn’s Suicide Squad sequel, The Suicide Squad.

While Gunn’s Suicide Squad spinoff series Peacemaker has added new characters and cast (here), there’s little denying it’s Stallone joining the main movie that will grab attention.

Its should be noted that filming has completed on the movie which is set for next August… so will Stallone be voicing someone? Will he be filming new scenes? Or has he already filmed stuff?

Gunn wrote: “Always love working with my friend Sylvester Stallone and our work today on #TheSuicideSquad was no exception. Despite Sly being an iconic movie star, most people still don’t have any idea what an amazing actor this guy is.”

While Stallone confirmed on social media with a video message:

It’s interesting that Stallone says he’s seen the movie… has Gunn finished editing already? Hmmmm…

There’s no word on who Stallone will be playing but having him in the DC Cinematic Universe is pretty cool… maybe he’ll voice King Shark’s dad!

Anyway, that’s the scuttlebutt gang (I’ll never write that again, I promise)… what are your thoughts? Let me know your opinion, gang.

The Suicide Squad stars Margot Robbie as Dr. Harleen Quinzel / Harley Quinn; Idris Elba as Robert DuBois / Bloodsport; John Cena as Christopher Smith / Peacemaker; Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag; Peter Capaldi as Clifford DeVoe / The Thinker; Jai Courtney as George “Digger” Harkness / Captain Boomerang; Pete Davidson as Richard Hertz / Blackguard; David Dastmalchian as Abner Krill / Polka-Dot Man; Michael Rooker as Brian Durlin / Savant; Nathan Fillion as Floyd Belkin / T.D.K.; Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher 2; Steve Agee as Nanaue / King Shark; and, of course, Sean Gunn as John Monroe / Weasel.

The Suicide Squad will arrive in theaters on August 6, 2021.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
