WATCH: The Big Lebowski spinoff, The Jesus Rolls, gets a trailer

September 28th, 2019 by Marc Comments

Well, here we are. Finally we have a trailer for The Jesus Rolls, the sequel/spinoff from the untouchable The Big Lebowski.

But, it’s in Italian…

Written and directed by star John Turturro, The Jesus Rolls finds the title character at the center of a loose retelling of Bertrand Blier’s 1974 French comedy-drama Going places.

Jesus Quintana has been in prison and we meet him on the day he gets out along with Bobby Cannavale and Audrey Tautou. “The group soon finds themselves on the bad side of a tough-and-tumble hairsresser played by Jon Hamm, transforming Quintana’s new lease on life into a game of survival from the cops as well as those who wish to put a bullet in his hair-netted head. Joining Turturro, Cannavale and Tautou for the film are Christopher Walken, Susan Sarandon and Gloria Reuben, among others.”

The movie has had no input from Joel or Ethan Coen, so Jesus will be the only character from The Big Lebowski we will meet in the movie, sadly.

The movie opens in Italy next month – hence the trailer – the rest of the world? They have to wait until 2020, sadly.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
