We finally have a trailer for the highly anticipated The Strangers: Chapter One, the first in a trilogy set to explore who exactly the terrifying trio really are and how they came to be.
Based on, or rather, picking up from, well, before, the 2008 horror movie, Harlin is planning on staying faithful to the tone and horror of that unexpected gem with his new trilogy.
“When this opportunity came to me, the idea of not doing a remake or a reboot but doing a trilogy based on the original film, I thought it was an incredible opportunity,” Harlin says of his new set of movies, adding that the second and third movie will “explore what happens to the victims of this kind of violence and who the perpetrators are of this kind of violence. Where are they coming from and why?”
After their car breaks down in an eerie small town, a young couple (Madelaine Petsch and Froy Gutierrez) are forced to spend the night in a remote cabin. Panic ensues as they are terrorized by three masked strangers who strike with no mercy and seemingly no motive in THE STRANGERS ― CHAPTER 1, the chilling first entry of this upcoming horror feature film series.
