WATCH: The trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is great fun

OK, here’s the deal – I like the first Teenage Mutant Turtles movie (and i mean the one from a couple of summers back, not the original, original). It was fun, fast and I really got into it.

Although it does have problems – the origins of the Turtles was flawed, and Fox wasn’t a great choice for April and a few other things; but overall? Yeah, I really thought it worked just fine.

And I was there at the start for Turtles originally. So, yeah, I’m a fan.

And now the trailer has just arrived for the sequel: Out of the Shadows. And does it look dumb and CGI heavy? Yes, of course it does… but it looks fun again; the characters look even closer to who they should be plus it has Arrow himself, Stephen Amell, as Casey Jones! And the Krang are there too. And Bebop and Rocksteady! And… well, you get the idea.

It’s dumb fun and sometimes, that’s just what the doctor ordered.

In a year laden with awesome nerdy movies we’re giddy over, Turtles will hold its own for us. What about you all? Roll on June 3rd.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
