Original Godzilla creators Toho in Japan are back to a new movie to rival the popularity of the Monsterverse and honestly, it looks like it’s going to do just that!
Godzilla Minus One takes the story back to the beginning to a Japan ravaged by war and about to be trampled on by the king of the monsters, Godzilla and it looks amazing. And brutal. And scary. This Godzilla is – at least not yet – no friend to humans and that’s just fine by us here at FTN HQ.

“Set in a post-war Japan, Godzilla Minus One will once again show us a Godzilla that is a terrifying and overwhelming force, which you already get a sense of from the teaser trailer and poster,” said Koji Ueda, President of Toho International, at New York comic Con a few weeks back, “The concept is that Japan, which had already been devastated by the war, faces a new threat with Godzilla, bringing the country into the ‘minus.’”
The new film is written and directed and written by Takashi Yamazaki and hits cinemas on December 1st.
