WATCH: Trailer and poster finally arrive for Avatar: The Way of Water

While we here in the UK didn’t get the trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water ahead of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we can at least now enjoy it on the small screen.

The trailer, below, brings us back to the world of Pandora and, while it looks gorgeous, it still kinda looks like a next-generation video game, still. While I loved the first movie back in 2009 on the big screen in 3D, I found it very difficult to enjoy at home, so I was firmly in the camp of ‘not terribly excited for the sequel,’ however, since it’s James Cameron, I’m more than prepared to give it a shot and look forward to being proven wrong.

Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, “Avatar: The Way of Water” begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure. Directed by James Cameron and produced by Cameron and Jon Landau, the film stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement and Kate Winslet.

Avatar: The Way of Water. Experience it only in theaters December 16th, 2022.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
