John Woo, the legendary action director, is back with his first US movie since 2003’s Paycheck and it looks great!
Yes, it’s 20 years since Woo made an American action movie – although he never stopped directing Hong Kong movies – and this new one has a great concept and looks like a tonne of fun!
Called Silent Night, it stars Joel Kinnamon as a father who sees his son murdered on the same night he was injured and left unable to talk – hence the clever title. As any good father would do, he decides to take revenge on the killers of his son in true John Woo fashion and, if that doesn’t sound amazing enough, it’s set at Christmas!
So a festive action movie without dialogue from John Woo? Ho ho ho, indeed! See you all in the cinema on December 1st!
Thoughts? I know you have them! Voice-off in the usual ways on FTN’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram

While recovering from a wound that costs him his voice, he makes vengeance his life’s mission and embarks on a punishing training regimen in order to avenge his son’s death.
