James Cameron’s Avatar is heading back to cinemas in 4k, 3D and it’s looking like it’s going to be stunning.
The release is ahead of the December release of sequel Avatar: The Way of Water (here).
The 2009 original movie was a mind-blowing experience in cinemas and really made it feel like 3D was the future of cinema and it was… briefly. But to this day. no 3D movie has been anywhere near a beautifully immersive as this classic.
The movie stars Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, A paraplegic Marine dispatched to the moon Pandora to take place in a new kind of invasion – as he was tasked with putting him mind in an avatar, a living breathing alien, to integrate and become part of the tribe of aliens who live on the planet so the humans can better study them.
It’s a movie that I tried to watch at home a couple of times and could not get into at all, but I’m genuinely looking forward to experiencing the 3D on the big screen again next month.
Avatar is back in cinemas on September 23rd
