It’s time for a new Toxic Avenger movie and this time it’s from Legendary Entertainment, picking up from the multiple movies, games, animated series and more that came when The Toxic Avenger came from Troma Films in the 1980s.
A staple of cult gore classics, the original movie focused on a janitor who fell into a vat of toxic waste, returning as the titular (anti) hero, however, this time out, the creature is played by Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage and is his own new version of the Lloyd Kaufman creation and now we have the teaser trailer… a NSFW teaser and it really looks like it’s staying true to it’s gory, silly origins.
Directed by Green Room’s Macon Blair, the movie sees Peter Dinklage playing “downtrodden janitor Winston Gooze who, after falling into a vat of toxic waste, becomes none other than The Toxic Avenger. This timely reimagining is up to its eyeballs in environmental themes as Winston goes up against the evil forces of greed and corruption to save his son, his friends, and his community.”
Directed by Macon Blair (I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore), this new version of the Troma classic stars Peter Dinklage, Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Julia Davis, Jonny Coyne, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon.
