We’re not convinced but could this be new John Williams music from Star Wars: The Force Awakens?

Ok, here’s the difficulty of running a site like ours… sometimes we find stuff that is very, very good, like this music, that just doesn’t sit right.

The music has appeared on Soundcloud and is being touted as being the work of John Williams from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. And it certainly seems to be Williams’ work – but we’re pretty sure we can hear some ET and Raiders in there which makes us think this is a very elaborate, well-orchestrated hoax.

But because we want you guys to get all the news, we bring it before you. It’s certainly a great piece of music, no matter what it is, so you do win even if it’s fake.

But we want to hear what you all think…

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, and features a new generation of swashbuckling heroes and shadowy villains, as well as the return of fan-favorite smugglers, princesses, and Jedi.

Starring Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Crystal Clarke, Pip Anderson, Christina Chong and Miltos Yerolemou, the J.J. Abrams-directed film will debut in theaters on December 18, 2015.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
