What if Pedro Pascal ISN’T Maxwell Lord in Wonder Woman 1984? Could he be another big character?

August 1st, 2018 by Marc Comments

Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins shared an image of Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal from the upcoming sequel and it has our minds working overtime.

The tweet is below and shows Pascal looking like a character out of Wolf of Wall Street or American Psycho, the classic yuppie look pinstripe suit and mental hair.

But… who is he playing?

Well, the obvious choice is DC Comics character Maxwell Lord  who, in the comics had a twisted – but well-meaning – scheme to join superheroes together to save the world… as he sees fit. However, eventually in the continuity he reveals his true colours and Wonder Woman kills him by breaking his neck.

So it would certainly be a great character for the movie… but what if it’s not Lord?

What if it’s Lex Luthor Snr?

Remember in Batman V Superman when Lex tells us that his father founded the business and later, when he reveals Doomsday, he tells Superman: “No man in the sky intervened when I was a boy to deliver me from Daddy’s fist and abominations…”

We’re just having fun here… but wouldn’t it be cool if that was who he was playing? It would also explain why Lex has so much information on Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg, because his father has actually met supers before!

Let us know your thoughts, guys….

Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine and Kristen Wiig and is scheduled for release on November 1st, 2019.
