The Joker is one of the most iconic supervillains of all time. There are few people who have not at least heard of him. With all this iconicity comes interpretations and, just like the Batman, the Joker has plenty. These different interpretations have not just appeared in comics but also on television and film.

Well soon after the release of the new Suicide Squad Blitz trailer (here) fans went to twitter to show their reactions. Some clever DC fans also noticed that Jared Leto’s joker has striking similarities to the joker from Batman: Endgame. It’s all to do with the Jokers burnt face you see in the trailer.

Batman: Endgame is a six-issue comic written by Scott Snyder. In this comic the Joker is terrifying and uses a paralytic gas to cause utter chaos in Gotham. Anyone affected by this pathogen brings about a transformation, both physically and mentally, turning the victim into a lookalike of the joker, and turning the feeling of love into pure hate.

Naturally DC fans are going crazy with by the possibility that Suicide Squad’s Joker is based of the Endgame and what it means for the film in general.

Greg Capullo, the original illustrator for the comic series, also retweeted this fan observation. Some would call that confirmation, regardless it definitely made fans even more exited for the film. Along with us too.
Suicide Squad is directed by David Ayer and features an all star cast of Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie and Harley Quinn, Ben Affleck as Batman, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress and Jared Leto as The Joker.
Suicide Squad is set for release on 5th August 2016
