Just a week ago, we reported that former Batman himself Michael Keaton was in talks to play the villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Now, in what can only be interpreted as a glorious act of retaliation, Willem Dafoe – the Green Goblin no other – has joined DC’s good guys in the Justice League movie.

The Hollywood Reporter (via Squareeyed) has run a story stating that Dafoe, also known for his roles in Platoon and The Grand Budapest Hotel, will actually play a good guy. That’s rather surprising considering that he fits seamlessly into a number of villainous roles.

They haven’t divulged any more details but we’ll bring you more as we get it. He joins an already impressive cast including Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and J.K. Simmons, who will be succeeding Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon.

Although we don’t know his role, Dafoe will reportedly appear in both parts. Justice League Part One is currently shooting and will be directed by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s Zack Snyder. It’s set for release on November 17, 2017. Supporting the main superheroes is Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg.
