Willem DaFoe’s Green Goblin to be lead villain in Spider-man: No Way Home?

It looks like Spider-man: No Way Home could be a bigger deal than we had previously thought… and we already thought it was a pretty big deal.

We have reported previously (here) that the original big-screen Green Goblin Willem DaFoe would be returning as the character for the upcoming Spider-man: No Way Home. Obviously, this is a big deal as DaFoe was the Goblin to Toby Maguire’s Spidey and died in the first movie in 2002.

However, we have since learned that both Alfred Molina (who will be digitally de-aged in the movie) will return as Doc Ock and Jamie Foxx will be back as Electro – both villains appeared in different incarnations of Spider-man, fighting Toby Maguire AND Andrew Garfield – were back.

So now it seems that, as has been speculated, No Way Home will introduce the first version of the iconic supervillain team, The Sinister Six.

The new rumour is that Willem DaFoe’s Norman Osborne/Green Goblin will be the main villain in the movie and he will put together the six villains to battle Spider-man (or possibly several Spider-men, given the rumours) with Foxx’s Electro, Molina’s Doc Ock, Sandman, Rhino and The Lizard – likely also recurring from previous Spider-man movies – rounding it all out.

Now, this is a surprise as many – ourselves included – were sure that Michael Keaton’s Vulture would be part of the line-up.

So, that’s what the word is now. Let me know how you feel about all this, gang.
