So when the DC movie universe movie slate was announced, a LOT of people were excited for the Wonder Woman solo film that was set to take place a few months before Part 1 of the Justice League movie. Ironically though, although was given a date, a star, and eventual director, the movie was never officially greenlit…until NOW!
Deadline confirms (in a weird, off-handed way…) that the Wonder Woman film is set to begin filming this fall. No official word on the plot as of yet, but rumors are speculating a movie set in the 20’s featuring Wonder Woman’s arrival to the world of man.
Personally, I think this is great. Because that means in one year (more like six months), we’ll get to see Wonder Woman in two prominent movies, which is something this character should get. Let’s hope both movies rock!
UPDATE!: We have gotten word from the costume designer for the DC movie universe, Michael Wilkinson, about how he feels about making these epic costumes (like the one above and the Aquaman costume revealed earlier this week), and his feelings on Zack Snyder.
“It has been a thrill and an honor to bring this iconic character to life for a modern audience,” Wilkinson tells toofab of his Aquaman design.
“Zack Snyder has a brilliant vision for making this character powerful and relevant,” he continues. “I enjoyed designing a costume that reflects this vision and honors the character’s rich legacy.”
The movie is to release June 23, 2017!
