We learned a few weeks back that the Vacation directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein would be writing the standalone Spider-man movie  and now the duo are talking about who the character will be this time out.

The duo wrote both Horrible Bosses, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 which pleases us because, honestly, we liked all those movies.

So what about Peter Parker this time out as played by tom Holland? “He’s a sharp kid and witty and kind of deals with the fact that he’s an outcast and a geek through humor. It is sort of the safety net for geeks like us, so I think we can totally relate to where he’s coming from. As well as the superpowers, which we also have.”

The movie is due to hit cinemas on July 28. 2017 and will also reportedly star Marisa Tomei as Aunt May…

We’re not hearing anything new here as Peter has always been nerdy, slightly outcast, mouthy and funny but, hey, if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
