Well this just got interesting. After many years of rumors and clues to a possible X-Men/Fantastic Four movie (see X2: X-Men United for a Franklin Richards tease on the computer!), it appears we may get one after all!

News via the Sony email leaks show that Fox is indeed planning (key word: planning) a movie between these two franchises. Such a crossover would be epic in both scale and proportions, and yet, it’s not certain that this will happen. Why? Because it’s uncertain where these two franchises will be after their movies.

The Fantastic Four reboot (featuring the Ultimate versions of the heroes) is debuting next year, and if it doesn’t do well, then a crossover is very unlikely.

Then there’s X-Men, who will have their next movie debut in 2016 with Age of Apocalypse, while the franchise is on fire after First Class and Days of Future Past, Age of Apocalypse is set to be the last firm of this “trilogy”, so where does it go from there?

Questions abound, but plenty of hope to try and make sure that this happens!
