Get ready for the new daily show

You NEED to sea (ahem) this new Aquaman image! Also a Shazam! actor is in this too…

Holy heck but that is beautiful!

EW have shared the above new image from James Wan’s upcoming Aquaman movie and, honestly, anyone who ever says DC movies have no colour can look at this and yesterday’s first look at Shazam! and reconsider that opinion.

Oh, and speaking of Shazam!, in the story above we also reported that MCU star Djimon Hounsou was playing the Wizard in Shazam! and today we find out he’s also playing the Fisherman King (above) in Aquaman. so he has two big DC appearances lined up in the coming months.

According to EW, the scene above is:

King Orm (Patrick Wilson, not shown) has gone to the Fisherman King (played by Djimon Hounsou, that guy with the trident — and more on that in a minute) to enlist his help to declare war on the ocean-polluting surface world. There’s also the Fisherman Queen (Natalia Safran) and Princess (Sophia Forrest) on the left, and a royal guard on the right. Though you can’t tell in this shot, all of them have tails instead of legs.

So who exactly are these guys? “After the fall of Atlantis, some of the kingdoms evolved and some devolved. This is one that evolved. This is a kingdom that’s primarily artistic and cerebral, with poets and philosophers,” says producer Peter Safran.

Honestly, the image has us so excited for Aquaman… we’re going to get a completely realised alien world beneath our seas and that’s so very, very exciting.

Don’t you agree?

Aquaman comes to land on December 21st.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
