February 28th, 2013 by Marc 1 Comment

Wow… fifty episodes already, huh?

So, we’ve been away for a few weeks but never fear, we’re back!

Marc braves the scorn of his wife to bring you this episode on his wedding anniversary. Brave, huh? He’s joined in the studio by the one and only Jay Faulkner.

On this week’s show Marc discovers the wonders of Charlie Brooker’s Black Mirror. We talk about Steven Moffat’s denial that there’s not much happening for Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary and in honour of Marc’s anniversay we celebrate nerdom’s best couples with the help of you lovely listeners…

The big interview this week is local talent and (among others) Judge Dredd artist PJ Holden who’s on talking about Titan Publishing’s new comic house and how he is the artist on Numbercruncher, one of the flagship releases and a damned good book. We also get him to give us his opinion on the recent Dredd movie. WARNING: He gets passionate about ti.

Stuart is on the show from The Monday Movie Show Podcast and he’s going through the UK’s Top Ten movies plus he reviews Mama and Cloud Atlas.

And finally Alan – the Bald Gamer Dude – weights in with his thoughts on the new Playstation 4 announcement.

And in closing Marc and Jay do a quickfire roundup of the rest of the Nerdy news.

Busy? Yup. Kinda great? Count on it…

You Nerd it here first….

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
