While console gamers have been freaking out over E3 the Tabletop world has been eyeing up the final nominees for Europes most prestigous awards, the Spiel des Jahres (Game of the year) which will be awarded at Spiel ’14 . The awards are given across three separate catergories.
Spiel des Jahres
This is the main category, these are main stream fun for all the family type games, I will be posting a review of the superb Concept soon.
Kinderspiel des Jahres
These are games aimed towards younger children, usually of the learning is fun variety but occaisonally you’ll find one that is great fun for everyone.

Kennerspiel des Jahres.
These are the games the hardcore gamers will most likely be buying as soon as possible if they don’t already own themConcordia <http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/124361/concordia>,
While I have yet to get any play time with them myself reports from critics indicate this will be a very close call as they are all great games. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to review them before I go to spiel.
