Hasbro shows off new Star Wars Black series at Toy Fair

February 12th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

Hasbro had the Force on their side at Toy Fair over the weekend and showed off the first wave of the 6″ Star Wars Black series. It’s been just about 2 weeks since we saw the Luke as an X-wing pilot figure. Figures of Darth Maul, R2-D2, and a Sandtrooper will join in the first release this fall. They all look amazing, the pics don’t do them justice at all. From Hasbro’s press release:

“We consider them the best figures that Hasbro’s ever produced for Star Wars that meets the sensibilities of romancing the character as well as the playability and poseability that fans really appreciate,” says Derryl DePriest, Hasbro vice president of boys marketing.

These larger scale figures will be priced at $19.99. If you’re a little more old school, Hasbro will also be releasing 3.75″ figures in the Black series including: Episode: II Anakin Skywalker with human and prosthetic hands, a super articulated Clone Trooper Sergeant, a Biker Scout (previously available only on Speeder bike), Bespin Trap Darth Vader with interchangeable hands (holding Han’s blaster or Force effect), a Clone Trooper Pilot, Luke Skywalker in his Yavin Ceremony outfit, Padme Amidala from the Geonosis Arena, and a super articulated Biggs Darklighter in pilot suit. Each of those will cost $9.99.

The Black line will release in the Fall. Guess what just went on my X-mas list?
