LEGO Confirm new Harry Potter sets… and check out the new Hogwarts set

February 16th, 2018 by Marc Comments

Yes! LEGO have officially announced the much-rumoured return of Harry Potter!

But here’s the deal, Potter fans… it’s gonna cost you!

The new products will include building sets, Minifigures, LEGO BrickHeadz sets and all of your favourite Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts characters, from Hermione Granger to Newt Scamander.

While the full range is yet to be revealed, we do have our first look at the LEGO Hogwarts Great Hall set (images below) and it looks glorious! But it does retail at $99 so we here in the UK can expect that to be £100 give or take.

The set itself includes (that we can see) Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Dumbledore, Quirrel, Hagrid, Nearly Headless Nick, Scabbers, Hedwig and McGonagle. So the minifies alone make this a must have! Oh and the Basilisk is in there too.

The Hogwarts set will arrive on August 1st this year and we’re expecting to see  others released too… and we’re getting Fantastic Beasts sets too.

Jill Wilfert, Vice President for licensing and entertainment for LEGO Group, said: “The Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts stories are perfectly suited to construction play, and our designers cannot wait for fans to see how the films are reimagined in our new collection of building sets and collectibles.”

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
