Agents of SHIELD did not just hint at Ghost Rider, ok? Well, we’re pretty sure they didn’t anyway…

OK internet, calm down…

The Agents of SHIELD themed train for SDCC didn’t just tease Ghost Rider for the show’s fourth year.

Well, we don’t think it did, anyway.

The train has a flaming chain wrapped around it – not literally, you understand – and we can certainly understand why everyone is thinking it’s Ghost Rider… the flaming chain is his signature weapon, after all.

But our money is on it being Hellfire, who appeared at the end of season three, who also happens to use a flaming chain (see image below then keep reading).

We just can’s see a potential A-List character liks ghost Rider being allowed to make his MCU debut in Agents of SHIELD, especially with all the recent tension between the TV shows and movies.

Hellfire IS connected to the Rider, as he is the grandson of Carter Slade, the first Ghost Rider in the comic continuity, so the chain is certainly hinting at the leather-clad, bike-riding terror.

Or we’re completely wrong and next season SHIELD will trade blows with Ghost Rider. We do doubt it though.

Do you?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
