Angel stars hint at something big coming for show’s 20th anniversary

April 5th, 2019 by Marc Comments

It looks like Angel fans could have something fun coming soon…

The hit TV Series was a spin-off from Buffy The Vampire Slayer that arrived on October 5th 1999 and often surpassed the original show with its tale of the Vampire with a tortured soul  who forms a band of friends who try – on a weekly basis –  to save the world.

And now, 20 years later, something it coming…

Star of the series J August Richards AKA Charles Gunn has shared that there’s a reunion planned for the end of the year: “I wanted to share as well that this summer, we have a really incredible Angel 20th reunion surprise coming and I can’t say what it is, and I can’t say any more about it, but I can say that you will not miss. You won’t be able to miss it. It’s going to be awesome. I’m really excited about that” he said.

On top of this, Angel himself, David Boreanaz also talked up the event a on The Talk: “We’re coming up on our 20 years.

“That’s amazing to have been blessed with a show like that. That’s really where I started my gig in this acting world. I love that character. So I will say there may be something coming up. I don’t want to give away a lot. It’s 20 years coming up this fall, and we may have something in the works.”

While it all sounds terribly exciting, we reckon it’ll be something akin to the Buffy reunion a few years back (here) where the cast all reunited for a photoshoot and reunion rather than a new episode or a TV special… but whatever it is, we’ll be there in the front row. Or at the newsagents…

What say you all?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
