As we wait a LONG time for Gotham, Flash, and Arrow to return, we do get little tidbits of what’s going to be waiting for us when it returns. Let’s start with Arrow.

When it returns on January 20th, the show will kick off a three episode story arc featuring Laurel becoming Black Canary. The first episode will actually be called “Canaries” and will feature the return of the new Count Vertigo. Marc Guggenheim talked about how this episode reflects what happened in the first episode of the season, and:

“It’s an episode where a lot of things that we’ve been doing and setting up during the season really sort of come together.”

Oh, and he refused to talk about the possible return of the Suicide Squad, don’t forget though, David Ramsey (aka Diggle!) already said they’ll be back!

Onto Gotham, whose news is centered more around who’ll be showing up on the mean streets of the city when it returns. For example, there is a casting call going out for two people to play John Grayson and Mary Lloyd, who are described as “circus performers”…also known as Dick Grayson’s parents? Hmm…

Then there’s an introduction that was teased early on in the season, as one “Dr. Dulmacher” a “mad European scientist”, will be showing up as The Dollmaker mentioned in episode two.

So there you go. It’s not much, but it’s stuff to ponder and look forward to until the shows come back in January.
