Although we had heard in November last year (here) that Supergirl in Greg Berlanti’s new show over at CBS could be the same universe as Arrow and The Flash despite being on different networks, the idea now seems to have been given even more weight…

Producer Marc Guggenheim, talking to THR, confirmed that a crossover event was certainly not out of the question when he was asked about it by a reporter. The exchange went like this:

THR: Marc, CBS is doing Supergirl. What is the possibility of a crossover?
MG: It’s possible.
THR: I actually heard it’s in Greg’s deal, that Supergirl can cross over with Flash and/or Arrow.

Guggenheim didn’t answer this but reports are saying that his reaction seemed to agree with what was said.

Add to this yesterday’s report that Batman could conceivably appear in Arrow and we could have a very, very exciting TV DC universe coming.

Interestingly, the guys at Comicbook point out: “Since CBS is a co-owner with Warner Bros. of The CW, almost no one has claimed it was outside of the realm of possibility for such a crossover to take place, but if THR is right that it’s actually built into the contract, one assumes it’s something they’re planning for.”

Oh, my…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
