When Supergirl was renewed last week we rejoiced… tonight we shall drink in celebration.
Or watch the week’s TV we missed out on. Whatever.
Anyway, The CW has announced its renewals for the 2016-2017 season and we’re glad to say their DC trio (and iZombie, the Vertigo-inspired series) have all made it as well as seven other shows.
The renewed shows are:
Arrow
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
The Flash
iZombie
Jane The Virgin
The Originals
Reign
Supernatural
The Vampire Diaries
The 100
“The CW has become home to some of the most critically-acclaimed shows on broadcast television,” said The CW’s President, Mark Pedowitz.
“With a wide array of fantastic scripted series across the week, ranging from musical comedy, to superhero action, to gritty sci-fi dramas. As we continue to further our strategy of more year-round original programming, picking up these 11 series for the 2016-2017 season puts us in a great position of having proven, high-quality shows to launch in the fall as well as midseason and summer of 2017.”
This puts Arrow into its fifth season, The Flash into its third and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow into its second. iZOMBIE heads into season 3. All great news for fans of comics and TV.
No air dates are known yet but you know we’ll keep you up-to-date.
