If there’s one big TV event we’re really excited for this year, it’s the crossover between not just Arrow and Flash, but also Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl too.

Seriously, it could be massive! Especially now that we know who the villains will be for what will essentially be a four-hour DC Superhero TV movie.

The Dominators are set to rock The CW DC universe to its core.

Who?

Well they are massive aliens, yellow skin, razor teeth and red dots on their foreheads, who led an alien invasion on earth in an effort to make us step in line. The event in the comics was devastating when they released a bomb that was meant to destroy meta-humans but rather created a massive amount of new ones… we can see big repercussions in The CW universe if they’re looking for a way to get new superheroes in the shows.

We’re also wondering if this will play a part in getting Supergirl over to Earth One in the shows moving forward.

Anyway, how will a massive alien force be done in The CW shows?

Well, executive producer Marc Guggenheim said: “This year, for our mega ‘Arrowverse’ crossover, we’re taking inspiration from a DC crossover from the late 1980s known as Invasion!, which featured an alien race called the Dominators, who’d previously vexed the Legion of Superheroes.

“We’re using cutting edge prosthetics and computer effects to achieve a feature film-quality look which is faithful to Invasion! artist Todd McFarlane’s interpretation of the characters (below).”

It will be very interesting to see how much damage this event will cause in the small screen universe and we cannot wait to see it!

In related news, The CW has released a little promo for their new season of shows (below) and in there, if you look really closely, you’ll see that Diggle has a new helmet and, yay!, it’s a full head mask rather than the (let’s be honest) daft looking face plate he wore last season as Spartan.

Anyway, the video is below and below that is a still of the mask. Thoughts?
