What show would be man enough to try to take the Saturday evening slot on BBC that belongs to Doctor Who and shows like Merlin (above)?

Well, this autumn will see a brand new show debut on BBC 1 in the Saturday teatime slot.

Atlantis will take us to the legendary city where we will follow the adventures of Jason as Greek mythology will be explored for a new generation of fans. Expect to see Minotaurs and Medusas as we explore this new world. There will be 13 forty-five minute episodes.

It will be written by Howard Overman who has written for Merlin, Dirk Gently, Misfits and Vexed. Producing the show will be Julian Murphy and Johnny Capps and begins shooting in April in Morocco and Wales for transmission in the autumn.
