Well, our already through-the-roof excitement for the Good Omens TV series has just escalated even further.

The series, based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s fantastic novel, has cast Benedict Cumberbatch as Satan himself according to co-creator Gaiman who made the announcement at the Television Critics Association press tour.

The character will be a 400-foot high CGI creation and in the show’s sixth episode will face off against Frances McDormand as the Voice of God.

The series will be headlined by Michael Sheen and David Tennant as an angel called Aziraphale and a demon (Crowley) who must team-up to stop the coming of armageddon.

Mad Men star Jon Hamm will also appear as the Archangel Gabriel.

The series will comprise of six episodes and will kick off on Friday, May 31 on amazon Prime.

The cast alone is worth getting excited for….

In the real world he’s a graphic designer. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
