Black Canary may be gone but Arrow Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim wants the world to know that she will not be forgotten in the Arrow-verse, that’s for sure.

Guggenheim shared the image below on Twitter, which is production art for a memorial statue in memory of Katie Cassidy’s heroine.

We’re not exactly sure how the statue will fit into the story – will it be from the people or from the city’s new mayor, Oliver Queen? Who knows, but we can’t help getting the feeling this is a firm statement that, for now at least, this is one comic character who will stay dead.
Probably.

Or at least the way we know her.

Variety is reporting that Evelyn Sharp, played by Madison McLauglin, will return in Arrow season 5.

Sharpe, you may recall, impersonated Black Canary in the season four episode Canary Cry because she wanted revenge on Damien Darhk for murdering her parents.

This season she’ll possibly be joining team Arrow as Artemis, yet another archer.

She’s set to appear in season 5 episode 2: “In the comics, Artemis was the daughter of villains Tigress and Sportsmaster, and a member of the

Injustice Society, although the character was given a heroic twist in DC animated series “Young Justice,” where she became Green Arrow’s sidekick after Roy Harper left the group. Evelyn certainly demonstrated some less-than-heroic tendencies last season, but perhaps the example set by Oliver (Stephen Amell) and the rest of Team Arrow can help keep her on the right path.”

Will she be friend or foe next season? We reckon friend… mostly.

What do you all think?
