One sci-fi legend exits, another steps up for The CW’s Supergirl.
It seems that the show has cast TRON and Babylon 5 legend Bruce Boxleitner in the upcoming fourth season of the show as recurring character Vice President Baker.
But here’s the kicker, the role had only days ago gone to Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Data himself, Brent Spiner.
However, a family issue forced Spiner to depart the series.
Baker is described as adept and politically minded, an unlikely leader who steps up in a big way when his country needs him most.
“The introduction of the vice president will likely be tied in to the growing anti-alien movement in National City. With the POTUS (played by Wonder Woman vet Lynda Carter) secretly hiding that she’s an alien disguised as a human, does this mean her secret will get out and Baker will be forced to take her place in office?”
Honestly, we’d lost interest in Supergirl because, out of all The CW shows we found it by far the weakest but they just caught our attention in a big way.
The actor announced his excitement at joining The CW’s DC universe on Twitter:
I am so THRILLED to be joining the #Supergirl team for Season 4. -BB @TheCWSupergirl @warnerbrostv https://t.co/g1fDrC2fjj
