If you were a moderately successful action film, now seems to be the time to make the jump to being a TV show. With the likes of Lethal Weapon on the way – Die Hard has to be next, right? – we’ve also got our first look at the Taken series, coming soon from NBC.

Set before the antics of the movie trilogy, Clive Standen from Vikings stars as Liam Neeson… sorry, Bryan Mills.

With a trailer no doubt on the way, we can wet our whistle with these images that have appeared online. He may be younger, but Standen strikes a familiar pose here…

Taken Taken Taken

Rumoured to be a modern day prequel, the show will presumably show us how Mills gets his particular set of skills. The second picture above has him standing beside co-star Jennifer Beals, who plays his mentor, the Special Deputy Director of National Intelligence.

The show is expected to air sometime around September this year, so keep an eye out for that trailer we mentioned soon.

Hidden deep in the woods, past the abandoned insane asylum and long-forgotten summer camp, off the old dirt road, across the creaky timber bridge, lies a log cabin. Under the full moon some have said they've heard blood-curdling howls from deep in the basement, though none have been brave enough to explore further... If they had, the shocking reveal would be that the screams come from old horror VHS tapes, accompanied by the maniacal laugh of Phil Robinson, brought on by comics and wrestling promos. The self-confessed "horror guy", he has also been known to talk about Spider-Man and heavy metal at great, unnecessary lengths. Yes, he knows he needs a haircut.
