Get ready for the new daily show

Could SyFy throw Constantine a life-line? We hope there’s something to this…

As we reported early yesterday (here), NBC released a statement listing some of their shows that are being renewed for next season and, although it’s by no means the end of the story yet, Constantine was most notable by its absence.

However, Cinelinx are reporting that they are hearing rumblings that the executives, especially after the fantastic fan support, are looking at other ways to keep the show going.

And one of the ideas seems to be a genuinely good one. Ready? Ok…

“The idea here isn’t so much to keep Constantine going on NBC but to move it to the Syfy Channel (where the marathon they ran of the show did very well) and rebranding it as Hellblazer.  The new channel would give them a little more freedom to explore some of the darker aspects of the comic and appeal to a broader fanbase.”

They go on to say that this idea is certainly very real with the folks at NBC but they add that there’s nothing set in stone… yet.

Hope, my friends, hope is a great thing…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
