If, like a few of us at FTN HQ, you’re one of those people trying to make peace with the terror of Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House, then we have good news for you.
It looks like the series which everyone is talking about won’t be coming back for a second season… and that’s a good thing!
Based on Shirley Jackson’s terrifying novel, the show’s creator Mike Flanagan has made it pretty clear that he has told the story.
“As far as I’ve ever been concerned with this, the story of the Crain family is told. It’s done,” he says.
Although, he did say he’d like to do another series that could tell a different story maybe around the house or in a totally different way, but he adds “I felt like the Crains have been through enough and we left them exactly as we all wanted to remember them, those of us who worked on it.”
It feels like in a world where shows and ideas are milked to death, it would be a bold, fresh idea to create a chow, tell a story and close the book, doesn’t it?
