Well, there is no words to describe how often we’ve completely nerded out over Legends of  Tomorrow, but this may be the biggest one yet…

We reported recently that Arrow and Flash would not be appearing in future episodes of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and now it seems that wasn’t strictly true as Stephen Amell will be in the sixth episode… although, it’s nothing like the Arrow we know.

We will meet Oliver Queen in 2046, as an old vigilante and not just that, but in a beautiful nod to fans of The Dark Knight Returns – and comic fans in general – he will finally have the traditional Green Arrow goatee… and a missing left arm.

Seriously… how awesome in that?!

Conor Hawke will also feature – in the comics he is Oliver’s son and the second Green Arrow!

Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim  said: “Every once in a while we do an episode where the 10-year-old me has to pinch himself!

“We’re not only introducing our version of Conor Hawke to our universe, we’re going to meet the 2046 version of Oliver Queen and Stephen Amell is going to be reprising his role from Arrow!

“As an added bonus to comic book fans, Oliver is missing his left arm and will be sporting a goatee, in a nod to the  character’s appearance in the seminal Dark Knight Returns. We think this episode features some of the coolest things we’ve ever done.”

We haven’t seen it, but we tend to agree…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
