Darth Vader set for The Clone Wars finale?

May 3rd, 2020 by Marc Comments

Well, it cannot be argued that Star Wars: The Clone Wars has gone out with a bang on Disney+, with the last three episodes featuring Darth Maul, Ahsoka Tano, Captain Rex and Order 66.

The episodes Twilight of the Apprentice, A World Between Worlds and Shattered have been absolute highlights of the show’s seen seasons and, with one more left to air tomorrow (May the Fourth, fans), it seems that despite getting off to a so-so start, this season will go down as some of the best Star Wars around.

But now it seems that we may see the series’ hero, Anakin Skywalker as the man/machine he will ultimately become in the story… Darth Vader.

The episode Shattered took place as Order 66 was initiated by Emperor Palpatine and with a final episode to air, it would certainly make sense that Vader may make an appearance. It would also make sense thematically as we saw Anakin’s transformation foretold in the Season 3 story, The Mortis Trilogy.

A new bit of Star Wars fashion has appeared online from Her Universe/Our Universe – run by Clone Wars star Ashley Eckstein – called Our Universe Star Wars: The Clone Wars Darth Vader Jersey Tank Top

It has the description: “Show your true allegiance to the dark side of the Force in this athletic jersey tank! Darth Vader makes a statement in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, just like this tank will in your closet. Features graphics inspired by his armor on the front and “VADER” text above “77” on the back, signifying the year the Sith Lord made his first appearance in A New Hope.”

Personally, I think Vader’s appearance would be a great bookend for the series that has given us some of the best Star Wars ever put on screen and would be a natural final scene… but maybe that’s just me.

What do you all think? Will Anakin’s fall be completed in the Clone Wars? Let me know your thoughts, gang…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
