So, it looks like DC has another TV series in the works.

And it’s called Pennyworth. Which must mean it’s based on Batman’s guardian/friend/servant/butler Alfred Pennyworth.

Or it could be based on Julia Pennyworth, his daughter who is a character in the more recent comics.

And that’s all we know.

But we can certainly speculate, can’t we?

Bleedingcool are reporting that DC Comics has registered a trademark in the name of Pennyworth and, the way we see it, this could be a few things.

It could be a spin-off from Gotham – let’s be honest, Alfred is bad-ass in that show.

It could be a spin-off from the upcoming Batman V Superman movie – although we can’t see that happening with Jeremy Irons BUT Alfred in the comics does have a great backstory that would be an interesting series if they find the right actor to play a younger version of him.

It could, as we said above, be based on Alfred’s daughter – this could mean she is in the Arrow-verse, the Gotham-verse or the movie-verse.

Or it might be something animated.

Or none of the above.

Honestly, we don’t know… but we’re certainly interested.

Let us hear your thoughts.

Is it a DTV animation?
