Disney+ bringing us a live-action Star Wars: Ahsoka Tano series?

March 30th, 2020 by Marc Comments

With all the good Star Wars news revolving around Ahsoka Tano recently, we have some more possible coolness to add to it.

So the character – who was first introduced as a padawan youngling in The Clone Wars movie – has had a long history in the Star Wars universe, having also appeared in Rebels and having her voice appear in Rise of Skywalker.

On top of this, just last week we heard that actress Rosario Dawson was set to bring her to live-action life in Disney+’s The Mandalorian Season 2 and there’s also the news that a sequel series to Rebels is set to debut later this year and is rumoured to revolve around her and the character Sabine Wren (who, being a Mandalorian herself, I’d bet will also appear in The Mandalorian).

Well now a new rumour from an apparently reliable source, is stating that once she is introduced on The Mandalorian – where her role will be a small one – she is tipped to spin-off into her very own live-action series.

Yes, please!

Now, this rumour ties into what Disney boss Bob Iger said in February when he said of The Mandalorian: “The priority in the next few years is television with The Mandalorian Season 2 coming in October, and then more coming from The Mandalorian thereafter, including the possibility of infusing it with more characters and the possibility of taking those characters in their own direction in terms of series.”

Infusing other characters? Taking them in their own directions? Doesn’t that sound like what they might be planning here?

It would also explain why an actress of Dawson’s calibre would be brought in for a seemingly small role in The Mandalorian.

I’m all in for a live-action Ahsoka Tano series. What about you?
