Disney Plus to attempt a Home Alone reboot and has the lead in place…

January 3rd, 2020 by Geralt of Australia Comments

All kids want to stay Home Alone when they’re younger, and for one lucky actor he’ll get to do it a lot younger than I did as a child with Warner Brothers heading up a new Home Alone movie for Disney+

There’s a few names that have already been cast like Archie Yates (below) from Jojo Rabbit while Rob Delaney from Deadpool 2 and Ellie Kemper from the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is still currently in talks for a role.

Now the thing that I find interesting is sources say that Yates will not be playing the iconic role of Kevin from the original movies and will instead be a completely new character, on top of that Delaney and Schmidt will not be playing the parents, but could be playing some couple not related, or even possibly playing the robbers, right now it’s all speculation though.

Dan Mazer has been named to direct the picture, however he’s most well known for his writing credits for Ali G, Borat and Bruno. The writers will be Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell, both writers for Saturday Night Live.

There have been a few reboots already with one in 2002 and a later one in 2012, both flops along with a Home Alone 3 done in 1997, however I also class that as a reboot since it wasn’t Kevin played by Macaulay Culkin, which would mean that last real one of the franchise came out in 1992. So let’s hope that this new one can do justice to the original.

Keep tuned for more news and stay nerdy folks, and remember to set those traps and lock those doors.
