While we are all looking forward to seeing Bryan Fuller’s take on Neil Gaiman’s American Gods hitting the small screen, we’re grabbing for any available piece of information on it that we can get our grubby little mitts on.

At the 2016 TCA winter press tour audience, Starz CEO Chris Albrecht confirmed the show will go into production this year: “Scripts are coming in, they’re really terrific,” he said.

Last year Fuller said: “The arc of the first season, we take a slow burn on it and really take advantage of the real estate of 10 episodes to dig deep with the characters and really make it a character tale of someone finding their faith.

“Shadow’s journey is one of a non-believer becoming a believer — becoming something to believe in. We really want to make sure that we tell that story effectively.”

It is expected the series will also include events in the book Ananzi Boys which is based in the same universe and the sequel which Neil Gaiman is reportedly writing.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
