Well, not happy with The Cleveland Show, American Dad, and even popping up in The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers, it seems that the Family Guy universe is about to get even bigger.
It’s been announced that Fox and Hulu have given the green light to the first two seasons of a Stewie Griffin spinoff series, set to debut in late 2027, called simply… Stewie. The series ‘will follow Stewie in preschool and explore time and space travel’ and will come from Family Guy/Ted/The Orville creator Seth McFarlane.
After getting the boot from his old preschool, Stewie is forced to enroll in a new one that’s not exactly top-of-the-line. It’s attended by a handful of kids he doesn’t know, and a 75-year-old class turtle with a half-cocked theory on just about every subject.

Stewie’s miserable, the other kids are miserable, and even the turtle is miserable… until Stewie begins rolling out his trusty array of devices to take them anywhere in space and time, turning every boring day at school into an insane and surreal adventure.
Word is the new series will see Stewie start a new school and will be completely separate from Family Guy, introducing a world full of new characters unique to this show. The series will debut in Family Guy’s 25th anniversary year… so Stewie really is older than he seems.

“I’d like to thank Fox for this incredible opportunity, and I’m excited to start pretending I’m collaborating closely with them on the show,” MacFarlane said.
While I don’t watch Family Guy much these days due to time more than anything, the odd bit I catch does seem like it has retained its sharp wit, and as a big fan of Ted and The Orville, I have to say I have zero issues with the Family Guy world continuing to grow.
Thoughts on more Steiw Griffin? I know you have them and I wanna hear ’em all!
