FIRST LOOK: Aardman releasing Over the Garden Wall short to celebrate show’s tenth anniversary

We have wonderful news for all you fans of Halloween, Autumn, and Over the Garden Wall.

The magical animated series turns ten next month and to celebrate, Aardman Animation, the wonderful folks behind Wallace and Gromit, are releasing a special animated short film, the first glimpse at which is above and below.

Unlike the 2D series, the short will be in 3D and, according to creator Patrick McHale: “New 2-minute Over the Garden Wall short is coming Nov 3rd! In stop-motion! It’s pretty beautiful, i think, and i hope people like it.”

The series starred Elijah Wood and Collin Dean as Wirt and Gregory who are trying to get home while stumbling across all sorts of adventures and weird, sometimes sinister, creatures.

The series, while only running for one season, featured cameos from Christopher Lloyd, John Cleese, Tim Curry and more.

The new short will only be two-minutes, but for fans who have been waiting ten years, it’s a welcome new bit of magic to to add to the show’s short but much-loved history and lore.
