FIRST LOOK: Stranger Things Season 2 image features the kids as… Ghostbusters!!!

February 4th, 2017 by Marc Comments

Ok, so we pretty much thought Stranger Things season 2 couldn’t be better than season 1 and with just one image we were proven wrong.

So what could make Stranger Things better? How about Stranger Things… meets Ghostbusters?

Yes, a new image from EW features Dustin, Mike and Lucas played by Gaten Matarazz, Finn Wolfhard and Caleb McLaughlin dressed in the iconic jumpsuits and rocking home made proton packs.

The image (below) coincides with the announcement that the Sunday’s Superbowl will give us our first taste of Season 2… and we can’t wait!

Executive producer Shawn Levy said of season 2: “The Demogorgon was destroyed but evil wasn’t.”

Hmmmmmm… what could that mean?

Here’s the image (and keep scrolling because there’s more after it)

The tweet announcing the Superbowl Spot is below, but some eagle-eyed observers also pointed out that the image may also be telling us when we can expect the second season to arrive on Netflix… take a look at the tweet and see if you can see it (we reveal the theory at the bottom of the page.

So,did you spot it?

Well, according to IGN: “If you take a closer look at the image, the numbers seem to reveal a possible premiere date of September 8, 2017. (The difference between Friday’s temperatures is 9, the difference between Saturday’s temperatures is 8 and the difference between the barometric pressure is 17.)”

Makes sense to us… maybe we’ll know more on Sunday.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
