Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova to appear in Hawkeye series on Disney+

November 30th, 2020 by Marc Comments

With Jeremy Renner teasing the beginning of the Disney+ Hawkeye series filming this week on his Instagram (below), we’re all still waiting to see who all will appear.

We know that Hailee Steinfeld was looking good for the role of Kate Bishop AKA the new Hawkeye (here), we’re still waiting to see who else will fill out the cast…

And now it seems we have an exciting new addition in the form of Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova who is to star in the Black Widow movie whenever it eventually gets released.

I’m a massive fan of Pugh with the jaw-dropping Midsommar being one of my favorite movies in recent years and others like Fighting with My Family being a lot of fun, so the girl has already got serious chops for a 24-year-old and having her as a big part of the MCU is very ok in my book.

In the Black Widow movie Yelena is another assassin from the Black Widow program and is basically the sister of Natalie Romanov AKA Scarlett Johnannson’s Black Widow, so many have speculated that the new actress is to take over the namesake.

What does this all mean? Does Clint Barton/Hawkeye know Yelena? We’re hearing that she may wear a Ronin-style suit similar to the one worn by Hawkeye in Endgame – what does that mean? Well, since the series is entitled Hawkeye, then does that mean the Ronin title is up for grabs? Could there be any truth the wild rumor that by the end of the movie Natasha will actually look like Yelena? Yelena surrogate father in Black Widow Alexei Shostakov, aka Red Guardian, played by David Harbour, was one of the characters to take the Ronic name in the comics…  so, could that tie into this? Who knows what it all means? But I want to hear your theories…

Marvel’s Black Widow arrives on May 7th, 2021. Probably.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer.
