We reported less that two weeks ago that a new X-Men TV series was looking likely from the folks at FOX and tonight we have confirmation.
FOX are feeling confident enough in the script because they’ve ordered a pilot to be written and executive produced by Bunr Notice’s Matt Nix.
This is exciting news as FOX already have Legion due to begin in February (read our review here) and it looks like they are now attempting to build an X-Men TV universe ala Netflix’s Marvel shows or The CW’s DC ones.
As far as plot, what we know so far is this:
The pilot will focus on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.
While Legion, from what we’ve seen (first three episodes), is more ‘real world’ than the X-Men movies, this show is expected to have a much more comic book feel and be closer to the tone of the movies.
Are you sick of Superhero TV shows yet? We know we aren’t…
