As we reported in September last year (here), Mike Carey and Peter Gross’ DC/Vertigo book Lucifer is looking like it’s coming to the small screen.
Lucifer, based on the character from Neil Gaiman’s Sandman books, has had a ‘put pilot’ put on it by FOX; this means it will air or FOX will be fined a lot of money.
It now seems that the pilot is going ahead, having been greenlit. It’s “a slice-of-life drama in, out of Hell and into Los Angeles, it looks like Satan is coming to prime time again pretty soon…”
We want to see this and hope that Constantine and Preacher will both still be around to see it too.

UPDATE:
Variety have confirmed that FOX have indeed ordered the pilot episode
“Underworld director Len Wiseman will reportedly direct the pilot, and will also act as executive producer alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman. Tom Kapinos, who is best known for Californication, will write the pilot screenplay and also work as an executive producer.”
